The "Rock"

Rough Rock Lodge is tucked back in a beautiful, wind protected bay only accessible by boat or float plane.

Roughrock Lake has one big advantage over many other lakes when it comes to walleye fishing. That advantage is the slow moving current of the Winnipeg River running through the system. All summer long, regardless of the temperature, every reef in the lake has water moving over it and schools of walleyes will hold on these reefs the entire season.

Smallmouth Bass Fishing

Looking for fantastic top-water Smallmouth Bass fishing. Book early, when the bass are in the shallow bays all over the system and near camp, too. A great challenge with light tackle or fly rod. Excellent bass fishing can also be had all season long in the 2 mile stretch of rapids just around the corner from camp as well as our easily accessible portage lakes.

Northern Pike Fishing

If you want big pike, the Winnipeg River system is famous for them. Thick fish that just won't give up! Several caught and released over 40 " including a 45", 46" and a huge 48" caught and released in 2006.

Muskie Fishing

Lots of muskies in the 40-inch class and with a few 50-inch class are caught and released every year. Many guests catch their first muskie ever while staying at Rough Rock Lodge!

Bear Hunting

Rough Rock Lodge sits in the center of one of the heaviest Black Bear concentrations in Ontario. Trophy Black Bear in both black and cinnamon color phases as well as "blaze chested bears. We have several stands well-suited for archery hunters.
